What Does ellacor Skin Tightening Do?

The ellacor System works to firm and tighten the appearance of sagging, lax skin on the lower face, along the jawline and around the mouth. The ellacor System can be used to treat the appearance of:

• Fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth
• Sagging skin on the jawline and neck
• Smokers’ lines around the mouth
• Loose, excess skin on the jowls, jawline, and neck

The ellacor system is designed to treat moderate to severe lines and wrinkles in the mid-face and lower face. For patients with more advanced sagging and more severe wrinkles, your provider may recommend combining ellacor with a facelift to achieve optimal skin tightening results.

How Does ellacor Work?

Similar to microneedling treatments, the ellacor System uses tiny needles to puncture the skin to create micro-injuries that trigger the body’s natural healing process to generate new collagen and elastin, resulting in smoother, tighter skin as the skin heals. The ellacor System is unique in its treatment, though. Unlike microneedling, the ellacor System uses hollow needles to remove and vacuum away tiny cores of skin, removing up to 8% of skin during a treatment, without visible scarring. The ellacor System’s needles penetrate skin up to 4 mm, resulting in a treatment that reaches the deep layers of the skin to trigger the body’s healing process.

The ellacor System’s tiny needles do not rely on heat or thermal energy, so there is no risk of burning or damaging the skin’s layer, which means the skin heals more quickly than many energy-based skin tightening treatments. The micro-cores created by the ellacor System during treatment close up quickly, resulting in less discomfort and downtime than laser skin resurfacing treatments, and there’s virtually no potential for scarring thanks to the use of such tiny needles.

Who Is a Candidate for ellacor Skin Tightening Treatments?

At CaloSpa, we recommend ellacor skin tightening treatments for patients who have mild to moderate skin laxity in the lower face, who are not yet ready for a facelift. We recommend scheduling a consultation with one of our skincare experts to determine if ellacor is right for you.

Ellacor is safe for all skin types and can be used throughout the year with minimal downtime, but we recommend avoiding sun exposure and strenuous activities for a few days following treatment.

Are ellacor Skin Tightening Treatments Painful?

Skin tightening treatments with ellacor can cause some discomfort, but our providers will work to minimize any discomfort. Depending on the size of the treatment area, your provider may apply a topical anesthetic or a local anesthetic to help improve your comfort during the treatment.

Following the treatment, you may experience some redness, swelling, and mild bruising at the treatment area, but these should fade within 2-3 days.

How Many ellacor Skin Tightening Treatments Will I Need?

During your consultation, your provider will develop a customized treatment plan designed to suit your needs, but most ellacor skin tightening patients undergo a series of 3 treatments, spaced 30 days apart for best results.

As your skin heals, you will start to see improvements right away, with full results appearing within 6 months following treatment.
