JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is a dermal filler that is injected to boost volume. VOLUMA XC, though, is specifically designed and formulated for the cheeks. It has large molecules of a natural volumizer called hyaluronic acid, meant to cover a wider area with deeper injections than past fillers.

The smooth gel is also packed with crosslinks to help it last longer – up to 2 years, according to Allergan, the product’s maker. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC can be injected in 3 regions of the cheeks, and it can also be combined with other treatments, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, for a comprehensive rejuvenation.

JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC

JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC is a more structured injectable filler designed to treat deeper lines and wrinkles on the face and neck. Often used to treat nasolabial folds, or parentheses, around the mouth, JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC can be combined with JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC and JUVÉDERM Ultra XC for a full facial rejuvenation. This combination procedure that incorporates other dermal fillers and wrinkle-relaxing injectables is often called a “non-surgical facelift” by our Louisville, Lexington, and Floyds Knobs patients who would rather avoid surgery.

Your Procedure & Recovery

At CaloSpa®, a single JUVÉDERM treatment is usually all that’s needed for a noticeable rejuvenation. Dr. M. Bradley Calobrace was among a select group chosen by Allergan to serve as trainers for JUVÉDERM dermal fillers, meaning they are certified to teach other medical professionals how to properly administer them. During your treatment, which should take less than 30 minutes, we can use a topical anesthetic applied before your injections if you wish. However, since JUVÉDERM products include an anesthetic called lidocaine, most people experience only mild discomfort.

The results of your treatment will be visible instantly and may last up to 2 years. Most of our Louisville, Lexington, and Floyds Knobs patients who get JUVÉDERM injections feel comfortable returning to work or their regular activities immediately, although some swelling, bruising, and redness may be present. These side effects are usually mild and easily covered with makeup, and they typically last only a few days (up to 2 to 4 weeks). JUVÉDERM FAQs

Do I need to do anything before my injections?

A. It is not necessary to do any major preparation; however, some patients have found it beneficial to stop taking certain medications or herbal supplements that may exacerbate bruising or bleeding. Our staff can answer any questions you may have about specific medicines.

Are there other lip fillers available?

A. Part of the RHA family of fillers, RHA Redensity™ is another dermal filler designed to treat fine lines around the mouth, and RHA 2 is also designed for adding volume to the lips, allowing you full range of movement while adding fullness.

Do you have alternative options for cheeks?

A. Restylane® Lyft is another filler formulated to be used in the cheeks. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC was the first filler specifically made for this area.
