Micropigmentation

Micropigmentation is a minimally invasive, customizable solution for restoring or enhancing pigment in areas where color or definition has been lost. Whether you’re looking to create the appearance of fuller hair, blend surgical scars, enhance lip color, or redefine brows, micropigmentation at CaloSpa® Rejuvenation Center offers a natural-looking outcome with long-lasting results.

We use the state-of-the-art Nue Conceal™ device, which scans your skin or hair to precisely match pigment to your natural tone. The result is a seamless enhancement—designed just for you. Learn more about our leading-edge micropigmentation treatments at our Louisville, Kentucky, medical spa.

What Is Micropigmentation?

Also known as cosmetic or medical tattooing, micropigmentation uses advanced technology to deposit specialized pigment into the skin. What sets our treatment apart is the Nue Conceal device, which uses AI-assisted scanning technology to determine your ideal pigment match. This ensures that the final result blends beautifully with your natural skin or hair color, without guesswork.

Micropigmentation Services

Scalp & Beard Micropigmentation

Create the appearance of denser hair to address thinning or refine the look of a transplant. This option is ideal for both men and women and can enhance results from NeoGraft® hair restoration or serve as a nonsurgical alternative.

Brow Micropigmentation

Choose from Nano brows for a hair-stroke effect or Powder brows for a soft, filled-in look. This treatment adds definition and shape, ideal for thin, over-plucked, or light-colored brows.

Scar Camouflage

Micropigmentation is often the final touch in our scar treatment process and stretchmark treatment. Once your scar is fully healed (typically 1 year after your procedure), we use pigment to soften its appearance and blend it more naturally into your surrounding skin. This can be applied to scars from facelifts, breast surgery, body contouring, and more.

Areola & Belly Button Restoration

For patients who have lost their areolas due to mastectomy or undergone surgery that altered the bellybutton (such as a tummy tuck), a paramedical tattoo (or a restorative tattoo) can recreate a realistic, natural appearance to help restore confidence and body image.

Lip Blushing

Enhance or even out your lip tone with subtle, long-lasting color. This treatment is an excellent option for those who want a more defined lip shape or long-lasting tint.

Saline Pigment Removal

This gentle method uses a saline solution (not lasers) to lighten or remove unwanted brow pigment safely and effectively.

Who’s a Good Candidate for Micropigmentation?

Most healthy adults are candidates for micropigmentation. Ideal candidates:

  • Have realistic expectations
  • Have waited at least 1 year after surgery (for scar or hair transplant-related cases)
  • Are free of active skin conditions in the treatment area
  • Have medical clearance if treating a surgical site

Your provider will evaluate your needs and medical history during your consultation to determine if micropigmentation is right for you.

What To Expect

Your journey begins with a thorough consultation, where we discuss your goals and assess your skin tone. The Nue Conceal device scans the area to create a custom pigment match. Treatment typically lasts 1 to 2 hours and may include a numbing agent for added comfort. Results are often immediately visible, with full results visible after healing. Some patients require multiple treatments to achieve their desired results.

Recovery & Results

The healing time depends on the treated area, but most patients experience minimal downtime with mild redness, swelling, or scabbing during the first few days. It’s important to follow all aftercare instructions, including avoiding sun exposure and strenuous activity while the skin heals. Results last 1 to 3 years, with touch-ups recommended to maintain vibrancy.

Combining Micropigmentation With Other Treatments

Micropigmentation is often part of a comprehensive aesthetic plan. Popular treatment combinations include:

  • Scar Camouflage + Laser Resurfacing[/link] : Combine pigment and muscle-relaxing treatments for a lifted, polished brow shape.
  • Lip Blushing + Restylane®: Improve lip definition, volume, and color for a youthful, fuller appearance.
Brow Pigmentation + [link pid="147"]BOTOX®: Combine pigment and muscle-relaxing treatments for a lifted, polished brow shape.
  • Scalp Pigmentation + Hair Restoration: Micropigmentation can enhance your NeoGraft results if you are a year out from your final NeoGraft treatment. Alternatively, scalp pigmentation can help you delay the need for surgical hair restoration. If you later decide to pursue hair restoration, you’ll need to wait 2 to 3 years after micropigmentation before pursuing FUE.
