Laser Vein Treatment
Many men and women need help to erase the spider veins that appear on their face, legs, or other areas of the body. Spider veins - the visible blue, purple or red veins that look like small spider webs on your otherwise clean skin - are an unwelcome sign of age that can detract from your appearance. Thankfully, a comfortable, noninvasive spider vein treatment is available in Louisville and Lexington, KY that can erase the appearance of unattractive veins to give you a more youthful look.
At CaloSpa, we use the Galaxy™ laser with advanced elos™ technology, which combines radio frequency (RF) and laser light for a dual-action solution for unattractive leg veins. We use the IRIDEX DioLite™ laser, another laser technology to address spider veins that appear on the face. Our skin care professionals are happy to review your visible veins and recommend a treatment package. Request a spa consultation online or call our Louisville location at (502) 814-3000 or our Lexington location at (859) 269-2256 to schedule your consultation.
Spider Vein Treatment
Laser vein treatment requires no downtime or sedation, and your procedure may be completed in under an hour. The IRIDEX DioLite laser produces a beam of energy that is absorbed only by pigmented vein structures in the skin without harming surrounding healthy tissue. The laser energy causes the vein to dissolve. At CaloSpa, we also use the Cutera Excel V™ laser to treat spider veins. This powerful laser is especially effective on vascular lesions, including veins. Excel V uses a proprietary cooling system to maintain patient comfort. In most cases, a single treatment is enough to see results.
Laser treatment is ideal for smaller veins (about an eighth of an inch or smaller), while larger veins may require sclerotherapy (collapsing veins using a chemical solution) or even ambulatory phlebectomy (surgical removal of veins). Your vein removal professional in our Lexington or Louisville, KY medical spa will assess your situation and help determine whether laser treatment is your best choice.

Periorbital Blue Veins
To begin the procedure, our vein specialists apply a special laser device to the skin over your spider veins. The laser energy that is emitted causes spider veins to collapse and shrink. The procedure causes minimal discomfort, with a feeling much like a rubber band snap each time the laser energy is emitted. We can provide a topical anesthetic if necessary. After treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away with minimal discomfort. Most patients need 1 to 3 treatments spaced about 6 weeks apart for their best results.Calobrace & Mizuguchi Plastic Surgery Center LOUISVILLE SPA MENU LEXINGTON SPA MENU
Q. Will It Hurt?
A. A brief pinching sensation is very common as the vein removal device releases its laser energy. Your first spider vein treatment may be slightly more uncomfortable than any additional treatments, and you can always request a topical anesthetic to maximize your comfort.
Q. What about Recovery and Results?
A. Improving the appearance of spider veins is a gradual process. Each treatment causes the unwanted veins to begin to slowly dissolve, and maximum improvement typically won't be seen for several weeks, or even months. Right after treatment, it is not uncommon for veins to appear darker and more pronounced before beginning to fade.
Q. What Is the Difference Between Spider Veins & Varicose Veins?
A. Spider veins are the small, colored blood vessels that most often appear on the face and legs. Varicose veins are generally thicker in diameter and often have a raised appearance. Varicose veins may be a sign of a more serious vascular disorder and should be evaluated by a vein specialist before treatment.
Q. How Long Will My Results Last?
A. The improvement in the appearance of treated veins is permanent, but you should keep in mind that, over time, your body is likely to create new visible veins that will need to be treated to maintain your youthful-looking skin. Many of our patients choose laser hair removal after their vein treatment to complete their new look.
Q. Is Laser Treatment Right for Me?
A. The best way to be sure that you are a candidate for laser vein treatment is to request a spa consultation online or call (859) 269-2256 so you can schedule a visit to CaloSpa.
